The Tarangire River, flowing through the park, attracts abundant wildlife during the dry season from June to October, including large numbers of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and antelope. You’ll often spot elephants crossing the savannah or gathering beneath the park’s iconic baobab trees, known for their “upside-down” look. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, home to over 550 species, including the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in Africa.
