This 6-day safari offers a well-balanced journey through Northern Tanzania’s most diverse landscapes, combining classic wildlife viewing with scenic highland and mountain experiences. The itinerary begins at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, where lush vegetation and panoramic views provide a gentle introduction to the region’s ecology and culture. The safari then continues to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and seasonal river that attracts high concentrations of wildlife.
From Tarangire, the journey moves into the Serengeti, Tanzania’s flagship ecosystem, characterized by vast open plains and exceptional predator density. Guests enjoy extensive game drives with strong opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, leopards, and large migratory herds. The experience is further enriched by a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of the highest wildlife densities in Africa, offering reliable sightings of the Big Five within a compact area. The safari concludes at Lake Manyara National Park, known for its groundwater forest, soda lake, tree climbing lions, and rich birdlife.
Upon arrival, your professional guide from Tanzania Joyous Time Expedition Ltd will be waiting to warmly welcome you. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and settle in after your journey, enjoying time at leisure as you prepare for the exciting safari adventure scheduled to begin the following day.

After breakfast at your hotel, your professional driver guide from Tanzania Joyous Time Expedition Ltd will pick you up and drive directly to Tarangire National Park, a scenic journey of approximately 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will begin an immersive game drive through the park, exploring its expansive landscapes, iconic baobab trees, and abundant wildlife, particularly large elephant herds. With your packed lunch enjoyed inside the park, you will maximize time on safari before continuing with further game viewing. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

After breakfast at your lodge, you will begin your scenic transfer to Serengeti National Park, traveling through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands. Along the way, you will enjoy game viewing as you pass through changing landscapes, with opportunities to see wildlife en route. With your packed lunch, you will continue into the Serengeti and spend the afternoon on a game drive across its vast plains, searching for a wide variety of animals including big cats and large herbivore herds. Later in the day, you will drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast before departing for a full day of game drives in the central-eastern Serengeti. This iconic park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including impala, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, and is especially famous for its migrating herds of zebras, antelopes, and wildebeests. In addition to the migrations, you may also spot resident predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions, each playing a crucial role in the circle of life. After an unforgettable day of wildlife viewing, you’ll return to your accommodation to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

After breakfast, you will depart Serengeti National Park and transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, you will enjoy a game drive in this remarkable natural sanctuary, where you can expect to see a high concentration of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and, with some luck, the endangered black rhino. After the game drive, you will ascend from the crater and continue with a scenic transfer to your lodge in the Manyara area, where you will relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.

After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game drive. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your lodge for your onward journey.
Lake Manyara National Park is an ideal introduction to Tanzania’s rich birdlife, with over 400 species recorded. Even first time visitors to Africa can expect to spot around 100 species in a single day. The park’s acacia woodlands, located inland from the floodplain, are home to the famous tree climbing lions and impressive tusked elephants.

Early in the morning, after breakfast at your lodge, you will begin your transfer to Moshi for a day hike at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, enjoying scenic trails, lush vegetation, and impressive views of Africa’s highest mountain. Later in the day, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport in preparation for your flight back home.
